Only shallow rooted grass and plants grow in a tundra because only the top layer soil can support that amount of weight like sedges, small annuals, reindeer moss, and dwarf shrubs. Animals in the tundra mostly small like ratlike lemmings, weasels, arctic foxes, and snowshoe hares.
The tundra is a treeless land with long summer days and short periods of winter. The climate is usually at freezing level and never rises above that temperature only in the summer. Precipitation is usually wet and a little rain mostly snowy during winter.
Tiaga: BY: AZIRE NORFLEET
The taiga is located south of the tundra is also called the boreal or northern coniferous forest, stretches across Canada, Northern Europe, and Asia. The climate in the taiga is warmer and wetter than the tundra with long and severe winters and short mild summers. The precipitation is from twenty two to fifty two centimeters.
Plants in the taiga are mostly common trees like the larch fir, hemlock and spruce trees. Animals in the taiga are mostly large like the lynx, snowshoe hare, caribou, weasels, red squirrels, voles, elks and red deer.

Many animals in the desert are undercover like the coyote, hawk, and road runners. Reptiles in the desert include snakes and lizards. Most plants are short bushes, like the creosote bush and cacti, which have adaptations to reduce water loss.
Deserts are located in dry, flat land. It's also known as the driest biome and receives less that twenty-five centimeters of precipitation.
grassland: By:Amanda Leutmixay
Grasslands tend to be called/also known as prairies in North America, savannas in Africa and pampas in Argentina. Grasslands receive precipitation 25-75cm annually and tend to fall in the dry season category.
Grasslands contain oats, rye, wheat, grass, blazing stars, sunflowers and many more plants. They also have a large variety of animals like bison, jackrabbits, deer, elks, prairie dogs and lions.
temperate forest: BY:AMANDA LEUTMIXAY
Temperate Forests tend to have short, cold and silent winters. The climate varies and plants and animals must adapt. The average temperature is 60 degrees and have warm summers. They also receive 70-150cm precipitation, annually.
Temperate forests are full of trees like maple trees, oak trees, birch trees, elm trees and ash trees. They also have squirrels, mice, rabbits, deers, bears and a variety of birds.
rainforest: BY:AMANDA LEUTMIXAY
Considering the rain forest consists of three layers (canopy, understory and ground), they contain many species of plants and animals. Aside from the roots of the tall trees and the carnivorous plants, the ground has many rodents, jaguars and many insects like ants. The understory has ferns, broad leaved shrubs, dwarf palms, tree frogs, chameleons and snakes. Lastly, the canopy contains monkeys, toucans and scarlet macaws
The picture above is a birds-eye view of the Amazon Rain forest, which is a tropical rain forest. There are two different types of rain forests: temperate rain forest and tropical rain forest. Tropical rain forests tend to have warm temperatures, wet weather and vigorous plant growth. The average temperature is about 25 degrees and receive at least 200 to 600 cm of precipitation, annually.
